Soil will have basically alumino silicate and other minerals and color is based on the content of different minerals. Some are red some yellow etc. But Some soils will be very rich in organic matter and black color is an indication of that. But take a sample and add some water and note the change of color. Color of soils depend on so many such factors, but minerals are most important.
