Carbon Di Oxide present in dissolved form in the drink tries to escape out of the bottle, when pressure is released by opening the cap. So, bubbles are formed, which come out upwards.

This is becoz of the carbon dioxide gas present in the soft drink....so when we open the lid the gas tries to escape in the form of bubbles
