When the bulb is connect to a closed circuit with some current flowing through it;

  • The current flows through the filament of the bulb made up of tungsten.

  • Tungsten have a high melting point thus when the current passes through the filament;

  • The electrical energy converts into heat energy making it red hot.

  • Since it has a high melting point thus it does not melt and so the heat energy gets converted into light energy.

  • This is why the bulb glows
