Answer:

Eating enough fiber can prevent or relieve constipation, helping waste to move smoothly through the body. It also encourages healthy gut microbiota. According to a 2015 review, dietary fiber increases the bulk of stool, helps promote regular bowel movements, and reduces the time that waste spends inside the intestines

Explanation:

Fiber is an essential nutrient of a healthy diet. It is not digested by the human body. It is important because of the following reasons-

•Fibers create weight in the food, due to which stool and harmful components pass easily through the digestive tract.  Thus, it keeps the colon ( part of large intestine) clean and healthy.

•It helps in reducing weight. This is because it creates a feeling of fullness in the human body. Due to this, a person tends to eat less.

•Soluble fibers ( dissolve in water easily) like oats, apples, and citrus fruits reduce cholesterol and glucose levels in the body.

•Fibers also decrease the risk of heart disease and type two diabetes.

Thank you.
