helloo!!

Hydrogen and chlorine are bonded by a covalent bond. Hydrogen is less electronegtive than chlorine, so it acquires a positive charge while chlorine acquires a negative charge.

The electron pair that is bonding HCl togather shifts towards the chlorine atom because it has a larger electronegativity valu. A bond in which the electron pair is shifted towards atom is called a poler covalent compound....i hope it helps you
