Heya!!
◆Answer:-
→The Powerhouse Of Our Cell Is Mitochondria,Having Outer Membrane & Inner Membrane.
The folds of the inner membrane or the Cristae provide an increase in the Surface Area which gives the Mitochondrion more locations for ATP( the energy currency) production to occur.
In fact, without them the mitochondrion would not be able to keep up with the cell’s ATP needs.
Since ATP is used by so many reactions as an “energy donor” in the human body it is vital that the body, to be more precise, a cell produces large amounts of ATP, therefore the inner membrane needs to have a large surface area, which is reached by having an incredible amount of folds.
