Give reason why it is advisable to always rotate the screw in One Direction only while taking a reading with a screw gauge

Explanation 
While Using the Screw Gauge, i.e. while calculating the measurement of the small objects, we should always have to rotate the screw in the same directions so that backlash error will not interfere in the result of the measurement. 

Now, How the Backlash error is Caused?
We know that in the screw gauge, screw always moves accurately but as the use of the screw gauge increases then there come some wear and tears, and as the result of this,  there may not be the forward linear motion of the screw until a certain rotation is given to the circular head of its. Hence, the lagging behind the linear motion with the circular motion which is called as Backlash error is caused.

Thus, Due to this only, It is advisable to rotate the screw in one direction only, while taking the measurements.
