Give reason why lighting strikes are more frequent in hilly areas than in plains

The crash of two or more gaseous molecules of clouds react and explode as electrical charges,which is the lightning. When it strikes the earth's land surface,it first strikes the hills and mountains which are of high altitudes.Also the hilly regions have more trees which attract lightning compared to plains.
