Rayon is a fibre which is produced from parts of the plant resembling silk by texture and looks. Hence the label "Artificial Silk" is given to Rayon.
It undergoes extensive chemical treatments though obtained from wood pulp. It is an artificial fiere as being man-made.
Its properties are too similar to the natural silk fabric. Rayon is extremely soft, absorbent and can be woven with silk fibre too. It can also be easily dyed to various colors.
