Regeneration can be used to reproduce only those organisms which have relatively simple body organisation consisting of only a few specialised cells. In complex multicellular organisms, specialised cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ system and organ system make up organism. Since complex organisms have very high degree of organization in their body, they cannot be reproduced from their cut body parts by the process of regeneration.
