The ventricles of the heart havethicker muscular walls than the atria. This is because blood is pumped out of the heart at greater pressure from thesechambers compared to the atria.

Answer:

The heart is made up of four chambers two ventricle (left and right) and two atrium (left and right).

Explanation:

Blood in heart enters in the right atrium and passes through the right ventricle. The walls of left ventricle are thicker than the right ventricle or all other chambers of heart because left ventricles  require higher force to pump oxygenated blood from the lungs to the whole body tissues.

While right ventricle pumps blood to the lungs only and right atrium receives and left atrium blood from the venae cavae and  pulmonary (lung) circulation respectively.

Hence, to force the blood to the whole body tissues strong and thick walls of the left ventricles are required.
