The Atlantic Ocean borders Brazil on the eastern side and the Andes Mountain on the western side.


There are seven main rivers in Brazil and 5 minor river basins all of which originate from the Andes Mountain and meet the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side.


It is due to the presence of the mountain on the western side that all the rivers of Brazil flow towards the east and not towards the west,
