Unisexual flowers will have 3 whorls because :
In general, there are four whorls of a flower. These are : calyx, corolla, androecium and the gynoecium..
The flowers that are unisexual has only one reproductive structure in it ; either the male one or the female one.
So, if the unisexual flower has androecium in it, the flower will not possess gynoecium.
And if the flower has gynoecium, it will not have androecium.
Therefore they will possess 3 whorls -
1. Calyx.
2. Corolla.
3. Either gynoecium or androecium.
