The majority of the earth's surface comprises of SIAL which is a combination of silica and aluminium.
The lower layer of the earth crust comprises of SIMA.
It is made up of silica and magnesium.
The content of silica in SIAL is more than that of SIMA.
SIAL is continental crust and SIMA is oceanic crust.
So SIMA is denser than SIAL. Therefore SIAL floats over SIMA.
The rock cycle was began by igneous rock, so it is called mother rock or primary rock.
Rocks can be classified into two divisions namely intrusive and extrusive.
While the intrusive rock is formed below the earth's surface, the extrusive ones are formed out of magma.
