Saw dust and gunny bags are poor conductors of heat, they do not let the ice melt quickly, as they do not transfer the heat of the surrounding to the ice.

Hot air rises up and goes out through the ventillator and external air from atmosphere comes in through windows. So Ventillator are made high on the walls and windows on normal height.
