Give Reasons

1. Volume of gases are converted into s. t. p. conditions and then compared.

2. Gases unlike solids and liquids exert pressure in all directions.​

1. At different volumes , gases have different temperatures and pressures . Thus it wouldn't be rational to compare in such a situation , so they are compared only in S.T.P .

2. In solids , the particles (atoms) are tightly packed with little space for them to move , but gases have a lot of space between them which allows them to move around easily , thus exerting pressure in all directions.
