Give reasons (1) we use water bath for boiling leaf in alcohol.

The leaf is kept in boiling alcohol solution (in water bath) during the experiment because hot alcohol solution helps to decolourize the leaf so that the blue colour of iodine becomes visible. If guard cells lose water, they become flaccid and their walls come back to the original position causing closing of stomata.
