Answer:
- Gradation takes place in two ways: degradation and aggradation Degradation or denudation is the wearing down of the land surface by various natural agents. Aggradation is building up of landforms due to natural agents. The work of running water (rivers) is the most extensive among all the other agents of gradation.
- Erosion is maximum due to the fast flow. (ii) Its carrying capacity is high; therefore, it transports the eroded materials. (iii) The load and volume of the river is less, the deposition is minimum. (iv) Rivers form the following features-gorge, canyon, waterfall, rapids, cascades and U-shaped valleys.
