1.) Silver aritcles become black after exposure to air. This is because, silver articles react with hydrogen sulphide ( H₂S ) present in air, to form silver sulphide (AgS) which is black in colour.
2.) When iron articles are exposed to the surrounding, they react with moisture and oxygen present in the air. Thus they for Ferric oxide which is also called as rust (a brown, flaky substance) . This results to corrosion of the iron articles.
