Friction does slow us down, makes the machines unusable, but it serves many important functions too.

We can walk only due to friction, friction also helps in cutting,standing etc .

We may lose lot of our work due to friction, but life is impossible without it.

1) parts of machines get wear and tear due to friction

2) soles of shoes tear due to friction

3) energy in form of heat is lost due to friction

4) sometimes fire catches due to friction
