a. Aldehydes are typically more reactive than ketones due to the following factors. ... The carbonyl carbon in aldehydes generally has more partial positive charge than in ketones due to the electron-donating nature of alkyl groups.

b. The hydroxyl groups in alcohol molecules are responsible for hydrogen bonding between the alcohol molecules. As greater energy is required to overcome these strong intermolecular forces, the melting points and boiling points of alcohols are higher than those of alkanes with a corresponding chain length.

c. Acidity is the tendency to lose H+ ion. Since phenol has the tendency to lose its proton and form phenoxide ion. It is more acidic than phenoxide as this ion is stablised by resonance. While phenoxide ion has no tendency to lose any proton.
