Answer:

a. It is easy to push a nail into a wooden plank by pointed end because the smaller the area, larger the pressure on a surface for the same force. The same force, therefore, produces a pressure sufficient to push the pointed end of the nail into the wooden plank.

b. When you go to mountains where atmospheric pressure decreases then blood vessels burst due to their own pressure. As high altitude increases, the availability of oxygen decreases, making the air thinner and drier. The dryness can cause the nose to bleed.

c. Bags should be provided with broad straps because it decreases the pressure by increasing surface area which makes it easier to carry them. On the other hand, thin straps decrease surface area which results in more pressure and it becomes hard for us to carry them.

d. Our bodies are not crushed by the atmospheric pressure because of the equality between the body pressure and the atmospheric pressure. Human bodies are used to air pressure. Our bodies are also flexible enough to cope when the internal and external pressures aren't exactly the same.
