(b) It is easier to push a lighter box than a similar heavy box on the same floor

Answer:
(a) The friction between the banana peel and the surface is very less so when we step on banana peel no grip is provided by the surface and we slip down
(b) Force of friction will increase if two surfaces are pressed harder. A heavier Box will exert more frictional force on the floor
(c) When the box starts sliding, the contact points on it's surface do not get enough time to interlock into the contact points on the floor. So, the sliding friction is slightly smaller than the static friction and we find it somewhere easier to move the box already in motion than to get it started.
(d) Sports man use shoes with spikes to provide the shoes better grip on the floor so that they can move safely.
