Give reasons for the following:
i) A body weighs less on equator than on pole.
ii) Mass of the body remains same but weight keeps on changing​

Explanation:

A body weighs less on equator because the value of g is less at equator than that of pole. As weight is directly propotional to g the weight is less on equator.

Mass is a constant quantity while weight depends on mass and acceleration due to gravity. As weight=mass×gravity

the value of g is not constant so weight keeps changing.
