Give reasons for the following

Reasons: Zinc oxide can react with both acid and bases, that's why it is considered as amphoteric oxide. Only more reactive compound can displace less reactive compound. Since, non-metals are less reactive than hydrogen. So, they can't displace hydrogen from diluted acids.
