Melamine is used for making kitchenware etc because it can tolerate heat better than any other substances. Basically melamine is a Thermosetting plastic which does not melt by fire. Once it is melted, it cannot be melted again.
((2))
sodium and potassium kept in kerosene because Na and K are very reactive metals and kept in kerosene oil to prevent it from coming in contact with oxygen and moisture as they react to form their hydroxides.
