Give reasons for the following observation : the smell of sizing of hot sizzling food reaches you several metres away but to get the smell from cold food you have to go close

because of diffusion of spices ...

it is because diffusion of the gases as the hot sizzling food has high kinetic energy because of the high temprature so the diffusion of gas will take place faster than the cold food.
