1)animal is colloidal in nature and has positively charged particles whereas tanning is consist of negatively charged colloidal particles when a hide is soaked in tanning mutual coagulation takes place and as a result leather gets hardened.
2)due to extensive solvation the lyophilic sol is more stable than lyophobic sol
3)because in harber's process Iron(Fe) is used as catalyst.if CO is present it acts as a catalytic poison.Thus it is necessary to remove carbon monoxide by suitable method .
