The poles of an electromagnet can be reversed by reversing the poles of the flowing electric current ( changing the direction of the potential difference in the circuit ).

Explanation :-

Steps -

• Electricity is provided in one direction.

• Electric current flows in the same direction.

• According to Right Hand Thumb Rule, direction of induced magnetic effect will be perpendicular to the anticlockwise direction of the coil and the current.

• When the direction of current is reversed, then according to the Right Hand Thumb Rule, the direction of the induced magnetic effect will also be reversed.
