Answer:

1. because air around the hot food gets heated and the air particles move faster which causes the smell to travel faster in air .

2. wooden log can be compressed but it requires a lot of energy , human power is not enough to compress wood log

3. The heat is used to break the bonds between the ice molecules as they turn into a liquid phase. Since the average kinetic energy of the molecules does not change at the moment of melting, the temperature of the molecules does not change.

4.Camphor tablets converts to fumes when heated due to the process of sublimation. Explanation: This occurs because the camphor tablet has a low vaporization point by which it does not melt or boil rather vaporizes when exposed to heat.

5.When the clothes are placed on clothes line get dry after sometime because of the heat produced by the sun . The heat of sun will evaporate the water from the clothes. The process involved in drying up of clothes is called evaporation. Due the sun's heat, the water dries up and rises up into the air.
