(i) Construction of a huge dam causes large scale destruction of the natural habitats of plants and wild animals living in the area. This disturbs the local ecosystem. Hence, environmental aspects must be carefully looked into, before building huge dams .

(ii)Coal is a source of energy in most industries. It is also used as raw material for several important industries. Hence most of the industries are located around coal mines .
