Answer:
Though plants release carbon dioxide during the day yet it is not released out. This is because carbon dioxide generated during day time is used by the plants in the process of photosynthesis. While using CO2 in the presence of sunlight, they produce glucose and oxygen thus counterbalancing CO2 release.

During day time it is utilised in photosynthesis hence not released out as during day the sunlight is also available
