It is said not to speak while eating because:
There is a leaf- shaped flap made of cartilage called epiglottis which is attached to the entrance of larynx or the voice box which covers the wind pipe when we swallow the food but when we speak during swallowing the epiglottis uncovers the wind pipe and food may go inside the wind which would stuck and will cause coughing until the piece of food get outs of the wind pipe. If the piece of food is much larger and does not come out by coughing also, then it may result in death also.

Answer:
sup peopleee
Explanation:
If a person talks while eating, food may be inhaled into the lungs. Normally, after food is swallowed, it passes into the pharynx and then into the esophagus. Food is prevented from entering the larynx (the passageway to the lungs) by the epiglottis, a spade-shaped cartilage flap that covers the pharynx. If food does enter the larynx, a cough reflex is usually initiated, although food may lodge in the larynx, causing a blockage of the airway.
