Symbioitic relations are those in which both the interacting organisms are benifitted.Organisms having symbiotic relation has 3 features -
co-evolution
co-extinction
Co -existance
Lichen is a relation between algae and fungi.
Algae provides food and shelter to fungi.
Fungi in turn absorbs water and minerals for algae.
Since both the organisms are benifitting each other and both have evolved features to help each other and they can not survive without each other.Any among the lichen or the algae can not live independently .The relation between them is symbiotic.

Heya !!!
Here's your answer !!!
Lichen are formed by the interactive relationship between fungi and algae in which both are benefitted...
Such type of relationship in which both the organisms are benefitted is called Symbiosis or symbiotic relationship....
▶In lichen , fungal component is called mycobiont.... it's heterotrophic in nature....it absorbs water and minerals from the soil and provide it to the algae to perform photosynthesis as algae can't absorp water due to the absence of rhizoids...
▶Algal component of lichen is called phycobiont .... it's autotrophic in nature.... It gets water and minerals with the help of fungi and perform photosynthesis by the presence of chlorophyll....
Hence , lichen is symbiotic in Nature....
Hope this helps you :)
