Pituitary gland is called the master endocrine gland.

Pituitary gland is the main endocrine gland. Everything in our body is controlled by pituitary gland. It is called master gland because it produce hormones which controls other functions in the body.

Because it secrets hormones like somatotrophin, thyrotrophin, gonadotropin, ACTH, luteinising hormone,follicle stimulating hormone. For an example it secrets thyrotrophin to activate thyroid gland and this thyroid gland secrets thyroxine hormone. That means the pituitary gland gives instruction to other glands to release their respective hormones.. So it called the master gland of endocrine syste
