hey
here's your answer!!
1) North India has a greater range of temperature than South India because South India is located near the sea and hence experiences Marine type of climate that is neither too warm during the day not too cold in the night. but north India is a landlocked area and hence experiences Continental type of climate. Hence, North India experiences a high range of temperature than South India.
2) since Delhi is a landlocked area it experiences Continental type of climate. so it is too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Chennai on the other hand is located near the sea and hence experiences coastal type of climate. so it is never neither too cold nor too hot. hence Delhi is colder than Chennai in winter.
3) distance from the Sea affects the temperature or climate of a place because the nearer to the sea the more it will be influenced by the land breeze and sea breeze. hence places near the sea will always have a moderate type of climate and places far from the Sea will always experience extremes of temperature.
4) water has a high specific heat capacity and hence it takes time by it both to lose heat and gain heat. so land takes comparatively less time to lose or gain heat.
5) the temperature of a place is usually dependent on its latitude because all the places near the equator gets direct rays of the Sun and hence experiences a hot climate. places far away from the equator places far away from the equator or near the poles receive extremely slanting rays of the Sun and hence experiences a cold climate.
6) desert areas generally do not have any water bodies near them and are completely covered with sand. hence there is Rapid absorption of heat during the day and Rapid giving out of heat during the night. so deserts are extremely hot during the day and extremely cold in the night.
8) direct rays of the sun are concentrated on a small area than the slanting ones and hence the heating is more intensified than the slanting ones. moreover the directories of the sun cover a small distance through the space than the slanting rays which travel a greater distance. hence they give more insolation than the slanting rays.
9) the desert regions do not have rainfall while the forest regions has highest amount of rainfall. this rainfall in the forest regions bring down temperature of the place and hence the range of temperature is less than the desert regions.
Hope it helps!!
