Sodium is a highly reactive metal & it reacts with water & air and catches fire so it is kept under liquid paraffin

BECAUSE SODIUM IS HIGHLY REACTIVE AND CAN REACT WITH THE OXYGEN ATOMS ALSO THIS CAN BE SO EXOTHERMICALLY REACTING
