\huge\mathfrak\green {☆Answer:}

It is considered the most significant among the many cultural contributions of the Sumerians and the greatest among those of the Sumerian city of Uruk which advanced the writing of cuneiform

With cuneiform, writers could tell stories, relate histories, and support the rule of kings. Cuneiform was used to record literature such as the Epic of Gilgamesh the oldest epic still known. Furthermore, cuneiform was used to communicate and formalize legal systems, most famously Hammurabi's Code.

It had to be deciphered as a completely unknown writing system in 19th-century Assyriology. Successful completion of its deciphering is dated to 1857.
