The sugar mills are located near sugarcane producing areas due to following reasons ---->
1) The raw material sugarcane is bulky, hence difficult and expensive to transport.
2) If it is transported from one place to another then its sucrose content will also reduce.

The raw materials are bulky so if the Mills are located nearby their transportation will be cheaper and convenient.
