Kings tried to preserve their identity, they wanted others to remember them... even after their death! For the same, they tried to preserve their lives and works through artefacts.
Poets wrote in praise of their king, monuments were built, coins were minted... all in the name of king.
Though lives of ordinary people could be reconstructed through 'Social History'. Their lives could be traced through social practices and traditional cultural practices. Such sources are hard to find!
