because brass is a good conductor of heat so when one touches it (brass tumbler) heat is conducted from the body to the tumbler...
so temperature of body reduces and the brass tumbler feels much cooler than a wooden tray on chilly day..

- Bez brass is the alloy of metals so it obeys its property to gain and loss heat rapidly
- Wood is a compound of non metals carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, etc. So it obeys it property to resist from gaining and losing heat
So in cold temp brass gives out heat to gets in equilibrium with surrounding while wood. don't..
That's why a brass tumbler feels more cooler than a wooden tray on a chilly day.
