Hi

Here is your answer

Covalent bonding:

It involves in sharing of electron pairs between atoms.

1) Why carbon forms in covalent bond?

Crabon has 4 electrons in its outermost shell.

It is hard for Carbon to gain 4 electrons or lose to electrons to get octet configuration.

So it shares the 4 electron which it has by forming covalent bonding.

Melting point:

It happens when the given solid melts.

Boiling point:

It happens when the given liquid turns into gas.

2)Why carbon has low melting and boiling point?

The carbon has weak force of attraction between binding molecules.

Hence less energy is enough to break the force of bonding.

And as carbon is a covalent bond, covalent bond has low melting and boiling points.
