Hii..

Copper doesn't react with cold water, hot water or steam.

However, Steel [ Alloy of Iron ] reacts with steam.

If hot water tanks are made of steel (an alloy of iron), then iron would react vigorously with the steam formed from hot water...

That's why, copper are used to make hot water tanks.

Copper does not react with cold water,iron reacts with only steam if hot water tanks are made of steel which is an alloy of iron then It would react vigorously which steam formed from hot water in hot water tanks to give ferric oxide ,so copper is used in the manufacture of hot water tanks instead of steal
