As the depth of water in a river or a stream increases, the area of cross-section available to the flow increases. Consequently, velocity decreases in accordance with the equation of continuity. Thus, deep water runs slowly

SOLUTION

Water starts boiling at 100 temperature. After this temperature., the temperature of water becomes constant for some time even after the constant supply of heat.

Here the heat supplied is used to overcome the intermolecular force of attraction present in a water molecule to convert it into vapour.

This heat is known as latent heat of vaporization.

The change in temperature only takes place after conversion of water into vapour.
