The reasons are:

  • cooperation with invaders
  • rulers were against and divided
  • no one felt the need to protest against them

Explanation:

The Indian local rulers were not United, they hated each other and wished to defeat each other. The invaders-Britishers took benefits from this and followed divide and rule policy..

Also, the indians fully cooperated with them by following their rules and buying their products and also by selling their own products to them at cheaper prices......
