give resons ABA is described as an anti-transpirant.
Answers
Answer:
Answer: Antitranspirants are compounds applied to the leaves of plants to reduce transpiration. ... Metabolic inhibitors reduce the stomatal opening and increase the leaf resistance to water vapour diffusion without affecting carbon dioxide uptake
Answer:
Hello mate.
Thanks for asking this question.
Your answer is =>
If we study the transpiration and cause of transpiration , then we get to know that :=
\underline {Transpiration}
Transpiration
is the loss of water in the form of water vapours from the epidermis of leaves by the means of Stomatal openings due the intensity of sunlight .
You can see that , transpiration is caused due to sunlight by which water is lost from the stomata.
You are preventing transpiration that means you are applying some chemicals as PMU and ABA and many more on the leaves.
These chemicals directly block the stomatal opening due to which either sunlight doesn't reach the water inside leaves or the water vapour are not realeased from the leaves.
These chemicals can temporarily stop the transpiration rate which would be beneficial for us but continuos use of them will block the openingopening and closingclosing of Guard cells in StomataStomata due to which Gaseous exchange will not be done .
If gaseous exchange does t take place , the gases like CO_2CO
2
can not enter the leaves for the Photosynthesis mechanism due to which all the metabolic activities in the cells will be disturbed.
So , in turns we can say that regular use of these chemicals would definitely let the plant die.
