Tapetum
- The wall of anther is multilayered and is composed of Epidermis, Endothecium, Middle layer and Tapetum.
- The tapetum is a nutritive tissue which surrounds the sporogenous tissue.
- The developing pollen grains consumes of tapetum.
- The sporogenous cells divides and give rise to microspore mother cell ( MMC).
- The anther matures, each diploid MMC undergo meiosis to form four haploid microspore or pollen grains.
