In respiration, the energy from theoxidation of glucose and the reduction of oxygen is captured in ATP. Organic molecules that have plenty of hydrogen are rich in energetic electrons that release their potential energy when they fall closer to oxygen.
Actually energy is stored in the form of ATP which is the mixture of oxygen and hydrogen and this is then used for oxidation of glucose.
