The small intestine of a lion is shorter than that of deer, as deer is a herbivore animal.

  • Ruminants, the stem from herbivore's stomach has long intestines and complicated digestive processes as the food they eat need to be successively broken down to obtain nutrients.
  • Deers consume mainly leaves and plants which have a high nutritional value. Such food generally requires two to three days to digest.
  • Whereas Lion is a carnivore animal that relies on eating flesh. Meat needs less time to digest and can be digested in only a few hours.
