Kreb's cycle is also known as Citric acid cycle because it is the first product formed in this cycle and also is regenerated at the end. In this process, Acetyl-CoA obtained during the process of pyuruvate decarboxylation reacts with oxaloacetic acid to form citric acid (six-carbon compound).
